Very clean, violence is used for self-defense by the "good guys" and to demonstrate the negative traits of the bullies. Some viewers might not appreciate the cigar scenes, even though it's the bad guy who smokes. Very creative, the crocodile has a personality and the boy's growth is shown through his love for the animal. Perfect for kids, adventure, intrigue, lots of imagination. The story is very believable, the ready readily identifies with the characters and it has a great hook. The conflict is a bit predictable but dealt with in an interesting manner. There are some fun scenes where the crocodile shows his playfulness. It has several conflicts introduced in the main plot and sub plot. The ending is great with a nice twist when the crocodile rescues the girl. The only loose end is that you don't know what happens to the water monitor. It's a great way to peek into another culture.
A spirited baby crocodile becomes the pet of a lonely Thai boy and turns village life upside down. The boy must confront jungle dangers, outsmart a nasty poacher, and navigate a raging river in order to keep his beloved pet.
