It is different and offers a different way of engaging younger viewers with visually interesting content and a way to explore with an adult through open-ended questions--"what happened?" "What's he doing?" There are more traditional approaches that offer excellent content and life-lessons. But Pingu is different and an enjoyable type of media for the young child.

Pingu is a charming and cheeky young penguin who is always up to mischief, getting himself into comical situations, and cheerfully loves taking care of his sister in his snowy Antarctica world. Created by Swiss animators Otmar Gitman and Haraold Muecke, it follows Pingu's adventures as he interacts with friends and family. Young viewers will laugh at his mischievous nature, revel in his unique adventures and relate to his favorite possessions, but most of all, children will love his special fun and imaginative "Penguinese" language.
