GENIUS PRODUCTS/DISCOVERY KIDS
Loved it. Kids love the jokes, the songs, the scary parts, and all the characters. So much so that one group asked to watch it again - immediately. "This is my favorite movie." "My friends would really like this movie. My friends like ghosts." "Casper wanted to be friends with the fleshies but he was supposed to be scary. He had to go away to scary school to learn how but it turns out that he got to do what he wanted. "I like the music." "I like when the ghosts were flying." "It made me thought about whether ghosts were real or fake."
What's not to like about Caster, providing you aren't easily frightened. Casper's relatives send him off to scare school where he finds lots of other ghosts like him and friendly allowed to be friendly. It delivers clear lessons about how to treat your friends. The animation style is superb and the special features which include a "how this movie is made" are very enlightening. It provides a good discussion starter about accepting others.
Casper goes to scare school and uncovers the headmaster's evil plot to take over the world. The headmaster doesn't realize that the power of friendship is greater than any evil plot, and when friends work together nothing can stop them. Actors: Phyllis Diller, Bob Saget, Jim Belushi, Devon Werkheiser
