The music made the kids want to dance and they all tried to sing along. "My friends and I would watch it two times if I had a sleepover." "The people didn't move, but I know they had new friends and liked to smash desserts." "I liked the rocket song and the 'party' song." Children especially loved the unusual images, even though they did not always understand what every song was about.
Here is a most unusual musical moving book. As you look into a picture frame, the lyrics appear at the bottom of the screen, changing color as the word is sung. The tunes are upbeat and full of rhythm, the images a mix of vibrant colors, the characters an odd group of creatures. The tunes, though not familiar are definitely fun. The apparently random lyrics actually tell a tale about Gustafer and his world. The songs delve into deeper subjects such as friendship and life. The music selection for each illustrated story was delightful! The tunes are nothing that children would hear today in the mainstream media. The style of this DVD was very appropriate for children ages 4+ and used language that children of all ages can understand. Not only are the tunes upbeat and full of rhythm, but the words appear at the bottom of the screen to aid in sing-a-long. Welcome to the world of children's favorites, Apple-Eye!
Music and moving illustrations about a friendly creature from the sun who came to Earth and now lives in Minnesota with an eel, next door to a tuxedo wearing pterodactyl.
