Well done. Great continuity. What is terrific is the story that is constructed out of the words so that rather than being a random assortment of disconnected words, they begin to make sense in the context of the storyline. Also great is that many illustrations are given for a single word such as fire truck showing a real fire truck as well as a toy fire truck. We did not have a Chinese speaker evaluate it so we can't judge it in terms of accuracy. However, in terms of child development, it is suitable for young learners and if the words are accurate, presented well. Interactions among the toy characters are respectful. i.e. during the story, the characters help one another. Word choice is good, repetition good. It's a reminder that the toys are in a human context when a human hand moves into the screen to manually manipulate the toys. There was a slight technical problem at the onset of playing it but it straightened out shortly thereafter. At the end is a section for parents that serves as a review for the words. No English words are used in the teaching - only Chinese words. But, they are clearly illustrated. This program appeals to a special audience - those interested in learning Chinese. It is not for general entertainment.
