This screenplay is original; it's a magical fantasy. The main characters are children who love all living things, including Atlantians. So there is a definite environment slant and child viewers can relate to the child characters. Besides environmentalism, themes include friendship, loneliness, fear of change, relationships with parents, getting over the loss of a loved one, and good vs. evil. These all good themes for 8-12 year-olds. The dialog is funny and the kids do some funny things. The friendship between the two boys and Ruby develops well.
