Enjoyed it. "It is very good and has a good story." "The man in a box traveled from south to the north to become free." "I liked the cartoons and the story." "It shows how Henry is trying to escape from the whipping and other bad treatment." The only drawback is the iconographic style. "I liked pictures in the story but think they should have moved more."
Excellent, educational as well as interesting. Iconographic presentation with beautiful images, classic storytelling presentation. An interesting story that today's child will find surprising since most are unaware of slavery. It is simply told, in rhyme, without a lot of extraneous chatter. Great for Black History study. Some jurors were put off by the iconographic animation style and wanted full range animation. It does get across the point that slavery is wrong. Pleasing narrator's voice.
The true tale of slave, Henry Brown, a man who mailed himself in a wooden box from a plantation in Richmond, VA to freedom in Philadelphia, PA in 1848.
