Mixed responses. Some said, "It's ok but too slow and too much talking." They liked the part with the swings and the sandbox, commented that all the actors were white, and liked the penguin. Some said they would watch it again because of the animals. It didn't hold their attention.
Interesting twist on classical poetry. Mother Goose was more engaging than the animal portion. Clever, silly excerpts assembled in a nonsensical fashion that appealed to the adults more than kids. The actors are clear and expressive; it's almost as if they're having a conversation. Lacks diversity; all actors are Caucasian.
Children will learn about the wonders of our world through this work, once seen on PBS, of celebrated poets such as Rudyard Kipling, Edward Lear and Robert Louis Stevenson.
