Some kids really resonated with it, especially those who love dogs. Others were bored. All the kids were able to discuss in detail the content. Several quoted their favorite parts from the script. One child told about the proceeds from sales going to animal health research. "It makes you think about dogs having feelings too." "This CD makes me love animals even more." "It made me want a puppy more."
Sweet, enjoyable. Divided into chapters for ease of listening to in segments. Some language and issues too adult for audience, ie. money vs. happiness and mating. Animal lovers tended to really love the story and felt that Tippy was "real." Biggest drawback is that the story tends to appeal to younger kids but the focus on mating and how much Tippy enjoyed her second breeding experience is really more appropriate for teens.
A two-month-old Maltese pup sits quietly in a Boca Raton pet store having no knowledge of what life could be like beyond the walls of her little cage. A stranger walks in and they capture each others hearts. Their life together is seen through Tippy.
