After watching Pegasus, the kids were really jazzed about mythologyl. Many were familiar with the story of Pegasus and enjoyed watching it. It stimulated a search in the library afterwards for more myths. With Beauty, the kids noticed the difference between this versio and the Disney version which they were familiar with. They noticed that the characters' mouths didn't move which generated a discussion about how stories can be told in different ways. They did comment on the illustrations and how beautiful they were.
Both these tales are beautifully animated and excellent translations of the original classic tales. Pegasus provides an engaging introduction to mythology. The ending of Beauty more accurately reflects the original story than some major studio releases.
