Fun and well produced. As a ten minute story, it's well acted and tells a tall tale appropriate for kids this age. They learn these tales in the second and third grade. The computer generated backgrounds are not very realistic but it contriputes positively to the tales. Rich colors and sound.
Our tale begins in 1890 Australia, at a country fair. Crowds bustle to see 'Edgar the Emu Man', or 'The Woop-Woop Wombat Woman', only one stand gets no interest. Strong-Arm Sam -Strongest Man in Australia. Every time Sam does a trick, someone calls out ; 'Crooked Mick of the Speewah can lift 100 times that!'. Tired of hearing about how much stronger Crooked Mick is, Sam and his promoter Gus decide to find the Speewah and challenge Crooked Mick. Crooked Mick is a big hearted journey film. Based on traditional Australian folklore and myth. Made by students at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) Crooked Mick uses a mix of live action and computer animation to achieve its heightened, storybook look.
