Creative and unique. Kids who have imaginary friends will probably identify with the special relationship. Good discussion starter over issues such as blaming others for things you've done wrong.
Ignored, belittled, invisible--for us this is a bad day, for Paul, this is his life. Paul is an imaginary friend. He spends his days accompanying Lucy, his host and the object of his affection, whenever she is feeling lonely, insecure, or in need of a good scapegoat. However, Paul must endure the sufferings of a voiceless existence, for, if he maintained his dignity and gave up, there'd be no existence to have. His fate is directly linked to Lucy's belief that he exists, without her, his window to the world is shut and he fades into oblivion. Thus, Paul must come reconcile his existence and his love, realizing that there is more to life than the imaginary.
