It stimulated discussion among the children about their feelings about winning and losing in sports. Kids enjoyed the storyteller's use of Spanish words in her story and added it to their own vocabularies. They also enjoyed saying 'Bonjour' to their friends and their toes.

It discourages the audience from being mean to their friends and encourages them to think about their feelings.
