Enjoyable but long for all but the avid train buff. Some of the kids sang along to "I've Been Working on the Railroad." "I never knew about all the different model trains." Everyone said they'd watch it again but it probably wouldn't be their first choice unless they were nuts about trains. For those, it would be choice #1!
Real train lovers will thoroughly enjoy this DVD. Very informative, includes history about steam and diesel trains, and lay-outs of model trains. Part 7 has segments with Pokemon characters in it, and includes scenes of toy trains crashing which will probalby appeal to kids' humor.
See streamline steam engines, sleek diesels, long freights, and passenger trains. Visit the Grand Canyon railroad, learn how a track gang repairs track, laugh at the toy train bloopers, and enjoy the toe-tapping music of James Coffey.
