Kids really enjoyed this. One five-year-old cried when she thought the elderly woman died and was relieved to discover she hadn't. One adopted child started talking about her experience prior to her adoption. The circus scenes were a huge hit.
A heart-warming story that touches several issues, foster children and the elderly. Great production values. Easy to watch, though a tad on the long side perhaps.
Follows two lost souls -- a 12-year-old foster child and an old lady in a retirement home -- who run away together in search of the family neither ever had. Their adventure lands them jobs with a three-ring circus, where they ultimately discover the true meaning of family. Won awards at: Chicago International Children's Film Festival, Heartland Film Festival, Burbank International Children's Film Festival and KIDS FIRST! Stars Julie Harris, Dan Byrd, Mickey Rooney, Charles Nelson Reilly and baseball legend, Joe DiMaggio.
