Impossible to measure an infant's response during sleep. At least one child enjoyed watching it awake, not moving from her spot until it was turned off. Did not seem to get bored with the repetition even after several minutes. Said her first letters by singing three of them along to the video.
Visual lullaby. Repetitious. Soothing. Circular movement of subjects make it a video mobile. Bright, contrasting colors are easy for infant eyes to focus on. Rote. No content. Could interfere with baby's sleep. "No convincing evidence supports that cognitive learning occurs during sleep."
Designed to be played while baby sleeps, this animated dvd of the Alphabet Song may help promote early letter recognition. Because repetition is a key factor in early learning, the video automatically replays itself.
