Children enjoyed the music, especially the younger ones, though they didn't dance or sing along. They asked about the words on the screen. What held their attention was Richie Havens. They wanted to know more about him.
Haven's wonderful style of performing invites kids to sing along. Production value is low; glow around Havens is distracting. Good choice of rhymes, repetition is useful. Counting and alphabet segments are lively. The female character is patronizing.
An animated, 3-part sing-along that uses music and repetition to teach the ABCs, counting to ten, and bringing classic nursery rhymes to life. Starring Richie Havens. Captioned with ReadSpeak
