Positively entranced them. They laughed, got scared, cheered, and even cried. "They were trying to work together but it was like when we tried to learn square dancing." "I did not know bugs were so smart." Enthusiastic thumbs-up from everyone.
This is a great movie, funny, beautifully animated, great characters and an engaging storyline. It is representative of the work that has made Pixar a household name. Directed by John Lasseter, the storyline manages to express the value the life - even for bugs. One of our child jurors commented, "I didn't know bugs were so smart." There are some scary scenes with the menacing grasshoppers and some verbal abuse which makes this unsuitable for kids under age five. Be sure to sit through the credits, it's worth it.
On behalf of "oppressed bugs everywhere" an inventive ant named Flik hires warrior bugs to defend his colony from a horde of freeloading grasshoppers. But Flik's cavalry turns into a group of ragtag flea circus performers and comic confusion follows.
