Entranced hard-core Thomas fans. "This will make my friends happy, happy, happy." "I want to learn about trains." "The diesel trains did a lot of name calling and were very mean to the steam trains." Youngest kids couldn't follow the intricate plot.

This theatrical release of the wildly popular television and DVD series offers a magical adventure. Beautifully executed animation and live action with stop action cinematography. Children are portrayed as competent contributors in relationships. Plot unfolds slowly, may lose youngest viewers. There is a slight deviation from the traditional positive role models that the TV/DVD series offers with some behavior that isn't up to par, i.e.. Diesel 10's meanness is excessive.
