Lisa comes from 20 years in the industry. In the mid-80’s, she ran the New York offices for Merchant Ivory Productions. As a location manager, Lisa has worked on both coasts and overseas on such films as “Room With A View,” “Falling Down”, “Mulholland Falls,” “Red Corner,” “Gattaca,”, “Dante’s Peak,” and “Thirteen Days”.
Six years ago, Lisa adopted New Mexico has her new home, and began working in state government. She was appointed as the Director of the New Mexico Film Office by Governor Bill Richardson in 2004. During the Richardson administration, the economic impact from film has reached $900 million dollars, and the crew base has grown from 100 New Mexican to nearly 1300. Over 60 productions with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000 have shot all over the state in the past 4 years – from Silver City to Taos, from Las Cruces to Clovis, with a high concentration in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
As Director, Lisa’s focus is on workforce development, nurturing culturally under-represented voices, and being an advocate for the filmmaker – creatively and financially.
