Who is Connie Chavarria?
Currently, Connie Chavarria is the program officer for the nonprofit Special needs Network, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA. She has a B.A. in Sociology and Social Welfare from Cal State Northridge. Connie’s expertise is working at social service agencies providing support to professionals in mental health and developmental agencies. She has served as a program director, community liaison, family advocate and behavioral therapist. She collaborated with the Department of Mental Health in planning a statewide autism legislative advocacy day and rally with outreach to over 30 nonprofit organizations, 40 elected officials and hundreds of parents. In addition to being on the Advisory Board of KIDS FIRST!, Ms. Chavarria is an Advisory Board member for Justice for Homicide Victim, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit dedicated to helping survivors of homicide victims deal with the pain and suffering associated with a violent death of a loved one.
