Offbeat and entertaining. Well produced. Original premise leads to unexpected situations. As you're watching it, you wonder where it's going and willing go along. Even an interaction with a bully is handled through non-violent response. Would play well in any general venue. Good acting, production values, and sheer creativity in concept. It hits appeal, production value (high), personal competence (the boy learning to use his curse as a gift), and social value (instills pride in personal achievement). Besides, it is darn good entertainment. The peer pressure issues are hit indirectly but still encourages kids to look at their unique skill set as opposed to being the cool guy in school. This junior was nerdy and misunderstood by his teacher. He was suspended when he wanted to go to an Ivy League college and yet ironically seems happy at the end due to his ability to manufacture a cookie and milk out of thin air. Great movie.
